My favourite place of London - "The Buckingham Palace with my friends"

Hello to everybody! I hope that you like this photo, because it's a funny photo in a special place.

First, I want to say to you that I have chosen this picture because in the photo, we can see that we are in front of the BUCKINGHAM PALACE: the house of the Queen, Elisabeth II, one of the most important people in the world, she has a lot of political power over millions of people in the world. She is the parliamentary monarch of sixteen sobereign states, like Canada.

The presence of the Elisabeth II is the most peculiarity of this place, although it doesn't the only one that makes that thousands of people go to the Buckingham Palace. Also, a very beautiful thing that people want to see when they go to the United Kingdoms is the CHANGING OF THE GUARDS of this palace. It's a moment in the day (the midday) in which the guards march in formation and other guards go to the position of the others to do the same next day. During this act, a musical group marches in formation playing instruments. I made a video when we were there, watch it!

Talking of the appearance of the monuments and his history, the Buckingham Palace is a palace with Gregorian and Neoclassical style (talking of architecture).

The palace has a big balcony, where the Queen and the Royal Family are sometimes in special occasions. In the fiftieth anniversary of the coronation of Elisabeth II, over a million of people went to the Buckingham Palace, and the Queen and their family were in the balcony. In this celebration, Brian May (the guitarist of the group Queen) played the God save the Queen in the top of this amazing palace.

Finally, I want to say to you that I love this photo because we are all together and next to us there is a big and amazing palace which is very famous! In my opinion, it was a good experience and I impressed with this palace because it is unique!

  2. Hi my dear class! Ü
First, I want to say to Javi that his post is good because you explain us a little history of the palace and also you put some things of our trip of London, the Changing of the Guards's video...

    1. Yes, it was very interesting. In fact, everybody want to see this event and we were lucky as Antonio said because we could see it. Also, you can know more about English culture.

    2. Well, there are some faces very funny... Juan Antonio, David, Coke, Miguel.. hahaha. I think Miguel has the funniest face and position in general in this photo. He is making something strange...

    3. Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. In measurements, the building is 108 metres long across the front, 120 metres deep (including the central quadrangle) and 24 metres high.

    4. "God Save the Queen" (alternatively "God Save the King" during the reign of a male sovereign)

    Goodbye class!

1-. Yes, of course, it was a good new experience, because we saw the changing of the guards, and like Ana and Antonio we were very lucky, because we saw a difference thing, that for Londoners is very important for us!

2-. I think the Juan Antonio, Coke, Miguel, David ´s are the funniest face of the photo, becuase they are making some thing funny hahahhaha.

3-. The house which forms the architectural core of the present palace was built for the first Duke of Buckingham and Normanby in 1703 to the design of William Winde.

4-. The national hymn of UK is the "God Save the Queen".

    Bye!

  4. Hi class! I love your post, Javi, because it remembered me all our trip, and, also, it's also so interesting.

1- Yes. It is an important momento there in England, and it was also a good momento for us, with all of that people looking at the palace and making potos and videos.

2- In my opinión, although Juan, Miguel, Coke and David have very fun faces, they are on that form by design, so the best is Guillermo's face, because he is with the eyes closed accidentally.

3- The Buckingham palace has 52 main bedrooms, 188 bedrooms for the personal, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. however, I believe it's a bit stupid, because and don't think it's going to be so much people to ocupe all the romos in the palace.

4- The national hymn is, as we have learn, "God save the Queen".

    Bye, class!

3- The visits of heads of state today staying in a suite known as Belgian suite, located on the first floor of the north wing. These rooms were decorated for Prince Albert's uncle, Leopold I of Belgium. King Edward VIII lived in these dependences during his short reign.
    4- God save the Queen

    Bye!!
