THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGES.

THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE:

I think that climate change means that our planet is suffering several contrasts in climate changes like these:

·GLOBAL WARMING:

At the end of the nineteenth century, scientists have observed a gradual increase in the temperature of the planet's surface. This increase has been between 0.5 º C and 1.0 º F. The ten warmest years of the twentieth century occurred between 1985 and 2000.

This warming has reduced the snow-covered areas in the northern hemisphere, and has caused the Arctic Ocean have melted some ice masses. In Antarctica have separated portions of ice and are melting.

·CLIMATE:

Global warming has caused a temperature increase at the surface of the earth, causing the polar thaw. The sea level has risen 4-8 inches and will continue to increase. The magnitude and frequency of rainfall has also increased due to the evaporation of surface water caused by the increase in temperature. Scientists say the surface temperature can reach up to 4.5 º F increase in the next 50 years (2001-2050), and up to 10 º F during this century. This increase in water evaporation will result in an increase in the intensity and frequency of hurricanes and storms.

You can see these video of climate changes:

·HEALTH:

An increase in the temperature of the Earth's surface will result in an increase in respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases caused by pests and tropical mosquito.

-The cardiovascular and respiratory systems are affected because, under hot, the person must exert more effort to perform any activity.
In the tropics extend mosquitoes and other pests responsible for dengue, malaria, cholera and yellow fever in the tropics affect a larger portion of the world population, increasing the number of deaths from these diseases.

·TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS:

The result of global warming will be:

- Extend the tropics to higher latitudes, and the region of pine forests extend into areas that now form part of the tundra and taiga. In losing its moisture soils due to evaporation, many areas could be covered with dry vegetation, widening the desert region of the planet.

- In the continental plain due to water shortages as a result of the increase in temperature could make these regions (such as the pampas of Argentina and the Great Plains of North America) on land unsuitable for farming.

·COASTAL ECOSYSTEMS:

-As coral reefs, sandpipers systems, estuaries, and others, would be affected, and that the sea level rise would inundate coastal wetland areas. The buildings very close to the coast could be affected by wave action, which could flood its foundations.

If we want to live in a better world we must reduce pollution and contamination in our cities. Because if not different places in the world are going to be affected by climate change in the future.

Now, could you answer these questions?:

1-.  List five ideas to prevent further pollution of our planet.

2-. What do you think about global warming?

3-. Can you tell me what has been the  hurricanes and earthquakes around the world recently?

4-.  What cities will be flooded if the sea level would rise?

5 -. How can we stop this catastrophe?

I hope you liked it and that you find interesting.

Halloween~

                      HALLOWEEN

The All Saints' Day is a Catholic tradition instituted in honor of all the saints, known and unknown to the modern world. Is Pope Gregory III (731-741) which changes the date of May 13 to November 1.

Recently was the day of the dead, on October 1, but the young people at night often celebrate October 31, are often disguised and wearing masks and go by the house asking for sweets or going on the street scaring people. They often disguise monsters like witches, vampires .... When the childrens visits houses they says´´trick or treat`` and the people usually said trait and their give sweets. The day is often associated with the colors orange, black and purple.

And this day, in October 1 people go to the cemetery and see their dead this is a very sad day, on this day you bring flowers, you clean the tomb and pray for them. The churchs says masses in memory of those who died that supposedly belong in purgatory.

They usually eat the typical sweets of the holidays that are the bones of a saint and the donuts.

Here, in Spain, some years ago, we have a lot of died people's respet, but now, we are coping english tradition and we disguise us and we go asking for sweets.

The carved pumpkin has become the symbol  of Halloween. It's called "Jack-o-lantern", from an Irish legend about a man named Jack. He was a lazy farmer who tricked the devil and he refused to free him unless he decided not let Jack go to hell. So Jack began to walk the earth in search of a resting place, carrying a carved turnip with a candle inside.

Some symbols of Halloween:

5 Most Shocking Music Deaths

Hi class! I´m going to talk about the 5 most shocking music deaths. The list is made by me because I wrote the list using my opinion.

5.- Rap Wars

During the 90´s, there was a battle between the rappers of both coasts of USA. The mean two discographies, “Death Row Records” and “Bad Boys Records”, ruled by their leaders Tupac Amaru Shakur (2pac - West Coast) and Christopher George Latore Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G - East Coast) fought against each other to control the rap industry and because the leader of the East Coast shots 2pac six times but the last one still lived. 2pac, considerated as the best rap singer in history, made an interview acussing the Eastern rap singers and wrote songs as “Hit ´em up” calling him names.

In 1996 after going out with Suge Knight he was shot in the car he was driving to go to his hotel. The rap world lost the most important singer who created songs as “California Love” and “ 2 of Amerikaz most wanted

One year later the Notorious B.I.G was shot in his car too. So the two most important rap singers died at the same way. I think the two deaths were related...

Although everyone knew she was going to died, we started loving her when we heard the news. She was born in London in 1983 and she had an intensed lived with a relationship with alcohol and drugs. She had a amazing voice and a particular look and got the title of Princess of Jazz and Soul. She has been an inspiration of musicians as Adele or Duffy who have great voices too. Her most famous songs are "Rehab" and "Back to Black".

On 22th november his manager in a meeting, declared Freddie had AIDS. Two days later he died in London and the world lost one of the best artist in history.

Here we have an example in which drugs, girls and success can kill a person.

The first year of his career were amazing and created a Revolution called “Grunge”. With his band, he made songs as “Smells like a Teen Spirit”, “The Man Who Sold The World” or  “Lithium”.
The last years were related with drugs and scandals and after lots of tryings of suicide he wrote a card saying the main reason why he wanted to do it- He became very famous and a star and he didn´t want it.

His corps was found in his house in the 8th of April and belongs to the “
Club of the 27s
He was married with Courtney Love and they had a daughter.

1.- John Lennon

John Lennon was one of the most important artist of the last century because he was one of the members of the Beatles. He was a pacifist and wanted our world without arms. Sarcasm? Well, he died because he was shot with a gun and it is a very interesting story. In the morning when he went to work he found a “fan” and he demanded him an autograph. Lennon didn´t want it. At night with his wife, Yoko Ono, he went to his apartment, and the fan was there. The fan said “Mr. Lennon” and shot him.
Then, the next day Lennon died in Roosevelt Hospital.

With his group he wrote song such as “Strawberry fields forever”, “Hey Jude”, “Yesterday” or “Help”.He also had a solo career with songs as “Imagine

IKEA had made lots of different adverts.
Click here and there to listen some of them, I love this adverts!

But furniture isn't the only thing you can buy here, this shop has also a small supermarket in wich you can buy food, a fast food restaurant, children's areas,...

And finally, after choose your products, you can pick them in an enormous stock. You have to look for the streets with the anotated data in your notebook.
You just have to pay them, carry at home and assemble them. And of course, enjoy them. Good luck!

            And now, the questions:

  1- From where is IKEA?

2- Have you ever gone to this shop?

3- What is the famous slogan of IKEA?

4- What's the origin of IKEA word?

5- How many IKEA's stores are there in Spain?

That's my entry. I hope you like it and you comment in it, it's very easy!
